Bengaluru — Global fashion retailer UNIQLO marked a major milestone in its India journey with the grand opening of its first-ever store in Bengaluru, bringing the Japanese brand’s signature LifeWear clothing to South India. The highly anticipated launch at Orion Mall, Brigade Gateway, was made even more special with the presence of cricket legend and Bengaluru’s own Rahul Dravid, who joined company executives and mall representatives for the ceremonial ribbon-cutting.

The debut in Bengaluru also signals UNIQLO’s expanding footprint in India. With this launch, the company now operates 17 stores across the country, but this marks its first foray into South India — a market seen as both fashion-conscious and culturally diverse.


A star-studded opening

Excitement ran high as crowds gathered at the mall early in the morning to witness the grand opening. Rahul Dravid, admired not only for his cricketing achievements but also for his understated style, drew loud cheers as he stepped up to inaugurate the store.

The new store spans 9,012 square feet on the mall’s ground floor and offers UNIQLO’s full range of LifeWear — versatile, high-quality clothing designed to improve everyday life. The philosophy emphasizes simplicity, quality, and longevity, aiming to create wardrobe staples that blend seamlessly into different lifestyles.

Customers can browse collections across men’s, women’s, kids’, and babies’ categories, including the latest Fall/Winter 2025 line-up. Highlights include innovations such as:

Shoppers who made purchases above ₹6,000 received a specially designed tote bag created by a local artist, reflecting UNIQLO’s effort to connect with the local community while celebrating the brand’s global identity.

The atmosphere inside the store was electric as customers explored racks of new-season arrivals, many experiencing UNIQLO’s clothing for the first time.
