Toyota Kirloskar Motor Sends 100 Skilled Indian Youth to Japan for Global Training under Skill India Mission

Chandigarh: In a significant step towards strengthening India’s global skill ecosystem, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has announced the departure of 100 young professionals to Japan to participate in the prestigious Global Skill-Up Training (GST) program at Toyota Motor Corporation. This initiative underscores Toyota’s deep commitment to nurturing globally competitive talent and aligns with the Government of India’s Skill India Mission and the Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) — a collaborative framework between India and Japan focused on international skill development and knowledge exchange.

🌏 A Global Learning Opportunity

The Global Skill-Up Training Program, spanning 11 months, blends classroom sessions with intensive on-the-job training at Toyota’s facilities in Japan. The program is designed to offer participants an immersive exposure to Toyota’s global manufacturing systems, core philosophies, and world-class operational excellence, while also cultivating discipline, teamwork, innovation, and respect for culture and diversity — hallmarks of Toyota’s work culture.

In addition to technical learning, the trainees will receive orientation on Japanese language, work ethics, and civic responsibilities, preparing them for cultural integration and success in a global environment.

The official send-off event was graced by Dr. Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil, Hon’ble Minister for Skill Development, Government of Karnataka; and Ms. Sonal Mishra, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, along with senior leadership from Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
