New Delhi: The fourth edition of World Food India 2025 was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on September 25, 2025. The flagship global event, organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), aims to solidify India’s position as the “food basket of the world” and a leader in food processing.

In his inaugural address, PM Modi described World Food India as an event that has emerged with “context, content, and creativity.” He asserted that India’s unique strengths—its diversity, demand, and sheer scale—provide it with a decisive competitive advantage in the global food economy. The Prime Minister also highlighted that India has consistently stepped forward to contribute positively to global food security in times of international challenge.
The PM visited the exhibition pavilion and expressed satisfaction with the event’s emphasis on nutrition, reducing oil consumption, and enhancing the health aspects of packaging.
