CDSL IPF and BSE IPF in association with SEBI and IEPFA organizes ‘Niveshak Shivir’ in Amritsar to facilitate investor claims for unpaid dividend and shares

Amritsar: CDSL Investor Protection Fund (CDSL IPF) along with BSE Investor Protection Fund (BSE IPF) under the aegis of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA), Ministry of Corporates Affairs, jointly organised the Niveshak Shivir in Amrtisar on 1st November 2025. This outreach initiative aimed to assist shareholders in reclaiming unpaid dividends and unclaimed shares, thereby reducing the volume of unclaimed investor assets in the system, while empowering investors to safeguard their investments.
The awareness drive, themed ‘Niveshak Shivir’, focused on guiding participants through the process of reclaiming unpaid dividends and unclaimed shares. The Shivir was organized in collaboration with leading Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) including BSE, NSE, NSDL and the Registrar and Transfer Agents (RTAs) – KFin Technologies Limited, Bigshare Services Private Limited and MUFG Infoline Private Limited.

To provide holistic assistance, the event featured 17 dedicated service desks offering end-to-end support on:
- Claiming dividends and shares that have remained unclaimed for over six years;
- On-the-spot updating of KYC and nomination details;
- Prompt resolution of claim-related queries;
- Processing of pending claims submitted to IEPFA.
The day-long event witnessed investors and claimants from Amritsar and surrounding locations. Attendees included retail investors, entrepreneurs, and corporate professionals.
The event was graced by Smt. Anita Shah Akella, CEO, IEPFA and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs; Shri Binod Sharma, General Manager, SEBI; Lt. Col Aditya Sinha, General Manager, IEPFA; Shri Sudhish Pillai, Head – CDSL IPF Secretariat, Shri Kiran Patil – BSE IPF along with other senior officials from SEBI, IEPFA, MIIs, and RTAs.
Additionally, IEPFA and SEBI, in collaboration with other MIIs, launched an insightful explainer video conceptualized by CDSL IPF “Understanding the Process of Claiming Unpaid Dividends from IEPFA”,
This investor-focused video helps viewers understand the entire journey of unclaimed dividends — from what they are and why they remain unclaimed, to what happens when they go unpaid. It also guides investors on ensuring timely dividend receipt, understanding IEPFA’s role and benefits, determining eligibility, and navigating the claim process with ease.
Throughout the day, sessions focused on addressing the issue of unclaimed investor assets, with SEBI and IEPFA jointly extending support and resources to simplify the claims process and raise investor awareness to empower the Atmanirbhar Investor.
