- The ‘Fight Formula’ arrives in India with the new Ducati Streetfighter V2, inheriting the Panigale V2’s essence and mischievous spirit
New Delhi: – Luxury motorcycle brand Ducati today announced the launch of the highly anticipated Ducati Streetfighter V2 in India. Applying Ducati’s renowned “Fight Formula” to the Panigale V2 platform, this new naked sportbike delivers an exhilarating blend of cutting-edge technology, aggressive design, and accessible performance for both road and track enthusiasts.
The new Streetfighter V2 embodies the very essence of a modern, high-performance naked bike, stripping away the fairing to highlight its mechanical beauty and raw power. It is a motorcycle that offers an intuitive, lively, and enjoyable ride, faithfully adhering to the original Streetfighter’s troublemaker spirit. This launch marks a new era for Ducati’s medium-displacement naked category, focusing on lightness, easy handling, a powerful yet usable engine, and sporty ergonomics perfectly adapted for everyday use.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Bipul Chandra, Managing Director, Ducati India, said, “The Ducati Streetfighter V2 perfectly embodies our renowned ‘Fight Formula’ a testament to Ducati’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and performance. We are absolutely thrilled to introduce this ‘naked-Panigale’ to India. This motorcycle masterfully blends the raw, exhilarating soul of a superbike with the versatility and comfort needed for everyday riding. With its aggressive styling, all new potent V2 engine, and comprehensive electronics, the Streetfighter V2 is engineered to deliver a truly intuitive, lively, and distinctive riding experience, perfectly capturing its spirit!”
Unmistakable Design & Ergonomics
The Streetfighter V2 retrieves the typical stylistic features of the Streetfighter family, with masses concentrated on the front, transmitting an image of attitude and dynamism. The sharp and menacing “look” of the front, traced by the Full-LED headlights and DRL, makes an immediately recognizable profile. The rear, completely faired in continuity with the front, creates a monolithic effect between the seat and the tail, recalling the Desmosedici MotoGP and underlining the bike’s sporty soul. The new six-spoke light alloy wheels, with a “Y” profile, are finished in black, perfectly complementing the full Ducati Red livery.
Ergonomics have been meticulously designed for both support and comfort. The variable-section aluminium handlebar, adjustable brake and clutch levers, and ergonomically shaped footpegs ensure excellent control in both sportbike and urban environments. The rider’s seat, at 838 mm, allows for easy footing, while the fuel tank’s ergonomic shape provides crucial support during braking and cornering, reducing physical effort.
Heart of the Beast: The New V2 Engine
At the core of the Streetfighter V2 is the new 90° V2 engine, 890 cc and Euro5+ homologated. Weighing a mere 54.4 kg, it is the lightest twin-cylinder ever produced by Ducati. It delivers a maximum power of 120 hp at 10,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 93.3 Nm at 8,250 rpm. Its generous power delivery, with over 70% of maximum torque available at just 3,000 rpm, ensures an exciting response at every throttle opening. For track enthusiasts, a racing exhaust is available as an accessory, increasing power to 126 hp and reducing weight by 4.5 kg.
The six-speed transmission features the second-generation Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0, providing a more direct and precise gear shift feel. An oil bath slipper clutch with progressive hydraulic control ensures a light lever pull, enhancing riding pleasure.

Unrivaled Chassis & Handling
The Streetfighter V2 is built around a lightweight and efficient monocoque frame, using the V2 engine as a stressed element. This compact and rational solution contributes to the bike’s impressive dry weight of 175 kg (Streetfighter V2 S) and 178 kg (Streetfighter V2), making it the lightest Streetfighter ever produced. A double-sided swingarm, inspired by the Panigale V4, enhances stability and mechanical grip.
The suspension setup varies between the two versions:
- Streetfighter V2: Features a fully adjustable Marzocchi fork and a fully adjustable Kayaba rear shock absorber.
- Streetfighter V2 S: Comes equipped with premium, fully adjustable Öhlins NIX-30 fork and Öhlins rear shock absorber, alongside a lithium-ion battery for further weight reduction. Both versions benefit from a Sachs steering damper, improving precision and stability at high speeds. The new cast wheels are fitted with Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres (120/70 front and 190/55 rear), balancing handling and footprint. Braking is handled by a powerful Brembo system with M50 monobloc calipers and 320 mm discs at the front, offering both track-level power and road-friendly modulation.
SuperSport-Derived Electronics
The Streetfighter V2 is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronics package, featuring a 6-axis IMU inertial platform for comprehensive control and safety. This includes:
- ABS Cornering: With a “slide by brake” function for controlled sliding into corners.
- Ducati Traction Control (DTC): With a new “predictive” control strategy for enhanced grip management.
- Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC): For maximum acceleration performance with safety.
- Ducati Quick Shift (DQS) 2.0: For seamless up and down shifts.
- Engine Brake Control (EBC): To optimize stability during aggressive braking.
Riders can instantly adapt the bike’s behavior by choosing from four Riding Modes (Race, Sport, Road, Wet), each offering pre-configured and user-modifiable intervention levels for all controls and engine response. The new 5” TFT dashboard provides a clear and intuitive rider interface, with three display modes (Road, Road Pro, Track) to suit different riding contexts.
Personalisation & Accessories
A range of accessories allows riders to further enhance their Streetfighter V2. Options include a racing exhaust for track use, the Lap Timer Pro self-timing system, Cruise Control, a Turn-by-turn navigator, a USB power socket, and a TPMS tyre pressure sensor for road versatility.
