MUMBAI: Marking a strategic move to capitalize on India’s accelerated capital expenditure cycle, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) has announced the launch of the Mirae Asset Infrastructure Fund. This new open-ended equity scheme is designed to provide investors with exposure to the entire value chain of India’s rapidly expanding infrastructure ecosystem.
The launch comes at a time when the Indian infrastructure sector is entering a new, sustained growth phase, largely propelled by ambitious government initiatives and an increased influx of both public and private capital.
💰 NFO Dates and Investment Details
The New Fund Offer (NFO) window is set to open on Monday, November 17, 2025, and will close on Monday, December 1, 2025. The scheme will subsequently reopen for continuous subscription and repurchase on December 8, 2025.
- Minimum Investment: ₹5,000 during the NFO, and in multiples of ₹1 thereafter.
- Benchmark: The scheme will be benchmarked against the BSE India Infrastructure Total Return Index (TRI).
- Fund Manager: The fund will be managed by Ms. Bharti Sawant, a seasoned professional in equity research and analysis with over 13 years of experience in the financial sector.
🎯 Strategic Investment Mandate
The Mirae Asset Infrastructure Fund adopts a thematic approach, committing to invest at least 80% of its assets in equity and equity-related instruments of companies linked to the infrastructure theme.
The portfolio will be broadly diversified across sectors critical to India’s development agenda, including:
- Core Infrastructure: Construction, Logistics, Power, and Telecommunications.
- Ancillary Industries: Building Materials (Cement, Steel, etc.), Industrial Manufacturing, and related Capital Goods.
- New-Age Infrastructure: Data Centres, Healthcare Infrastructure, and Infrastructure Financing Entities.
- Alternate Assets: The scheme also has the flexibility to invest up to 10% of its net assets in units of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs), which offer steady, inflation-hedged cash flows.
The India Infrastructure Thesis: A Multi-Decade Opportunity
According to the fund house, the rationale for launching the scheme is rooted in the structural shift underway in the Indian economy. The sector is currently enjoying significant tailwinds driven by large-scale, coordinated government projects and a shift in corporate sentiment toward capital expenditure.
Key Drivers Propelling the Sector:
- PM Gati Shakti & National Master Plan: This initiative is transforming project implementation by breaking ministerial silos, ensuring multi-modal connectivity, and reducing logistics costs (currently high at $1.34 trillion by 2025).
- National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP): This plan earmarks massive investments across energy, roads, railways, and urban development, guaranteeing order-book visibility for years.
- Union Budget Focus: The government’s consistent commitment to infrastructure, with capital investment outlay for FY 2025-26 maintained at over 3.1% of GDP, provides a stable foundation for growth.
- Private Capex Cycle: Alongside government spending, private sector capital expenditure is expected to accelerate, driven by schemes like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI), leading to increased demand across the infrastructure value chain.
Analysts project the India Infrastructure Sector Market size, which was estimated at USD 190.70 billion in 2025, to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 8% to reach USD 280.60 billion by 2030. This makes the sector a key structural theme for long-term compounding returns.
The Mirae Asset Infrastructure Fund positions itself to capture this sustained growth, offering investors a professionally managed pathway to participate in India’s foundational economic transformation.
