Encouraging Mental Health Awareness
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Managing Director & CEO of Fortis Healthcare, emphasized the importance of early sensitization towards mental health.
“At Fortis, it is our endeavour to ensure that there is greater awareness and sensitization towards mental health and concerns related to it. Psych-ED has been a unique initiative by the Department of Mental Health & Behavioral Sciences, that has certainly pushed forward the vision we share—creating awareness on mental health in school days itself,” he said.
The competition is designed not only to test knowledge but also to create a fun and interactive learning experience that allows students to better understand psychology and its role in everyday life.
Students Share Their Excitement
The winning team from Sunbeam School, Varanasi, expressed their excitement at the victory.
“We are super excited to have won the Psych-ED 2025! It was a fabulous journey and great learning. We truly had a lot of fun. We hope that more schools keep participating every year for the best learning experiences under the supervision of the best minds at Psych-ED!”
Their words reflected both the joy of achievement and the deeper value of participating in an event that combines knowledge with personal growth.
Expert Views on Mental Health and Education
Dr. Samir Parikh, Chairman of the Fortis National Mental Health Program, stressed the long-term vision of making mental health a national priority.
“Talking about and making mental health a priority for all has been a long-term vision and mission at Fortis Healthcare. Psych-ED is the first step in this direction, where we are engaging with the youth and creating a unique way of building an understanding pertaining to psychology and mental health. Mental health is a lesser discussed subject, and the educational fraternity should come together to sensitize younger minds.”
Dr. Parikh highlighted how school-based initiatives can contribute towards breaking taboos, encouraging dialogue, and fostering a generation that is informed, empathetic, and mentally resilient.

Psych-ED 2025 was supported by GD Goenka University, Project CACA, Rupa Publications, and Adayu (a Fortis Group company). Their collaboration reflects the growing importance of public-private partnerships in educational initiatives that promote health and well-being.
