Cairo/Gurugram – In a bold step toward revolutionizing healthcare in Egypt, Telecom Egypt, the country’s leading telecom and digital solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KareXpert, an AI-powered health tech company based in India. The strategic partnership aims to launch a comprehensive national digital healthcare platform, hosted securely on Egypt’s sovereign national cloud infrastructure.

This initiative represents a major milestone in Egypt’s journey toward digital healthcare transformation, aligning with the country’s Vision 2030 agenda for a tech-powered, inclusive, and efficient healthcare ecosystem.

🏥 What the Platform Will Offer

At the heart of the new platform is KareXpert’s Hospital Information Management System (HIMS), combined with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM). This integration will allow healthcare institutions in Egypt to access a single digital ecosystem, providing a 360-degree view of clinical and administrative workflows, patient data, diagnostics, and finances.

Importantly, the platform will be:

  • Cloud-native

  • AI-enabled

  • Completely hosted within Egypt on a national secure cloud

  • Fully compliant with data sovereignty and privacy regulations

The interoperability of KareXpert’s platform ensures seamless adoption by hospitals, regardless of their existing IT systems. A unified digital payments pathway simplifies billing and collection, improving patient convenience and operational liquidity.

🌐 Strategic Impact on Egypt’s Digital Infrastructure

This partnership is part of Telecom Egypt’s broader strategy to diversify its portfolio beyond connectivity and 5G services into cloud, IoT, and AI-driven solutions for key national sectors. The healthcare domain is now a priority focus area where the telecom giant seeks to leverage its nationwide fiber-optic and 5G networks to support smart, secure, and scalable digital health infrastructure.

Speaking at the Africa Health ExCon 2025 in Cairo, where the MoU was signed, Mohamed Nasr, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt, emphasized the importance of building end-to-end digital ecosystems:

“We started by connecting Egypt through a fiber-optic backbone and then expanded with 5G. Now, we’re integrating critical sectors like healthcare into our digital vision. Our alliance with KareXpert represents a model for technology-driven public health advancement that protects data and enhances efficiency.”

Nasr reiterated that the solution will empower both public and private hospitals, enabling real-time monitoring, data-driven care delivery, and improved administrative control.

🌍 KareXpert’s Global Footprint

Founded by tech entrepreneur Nidhi Jain, KareXpert is backed by Reliance Jio and is operational in over 500 hospitals across six countries, serving more than 15 million patients to date. In India, KareXpert powers hospitals under Apollo, CK Birla, Reliance, Artemis, Tata, and even government health institutions like Defence Ministry and BHEL.

Commenting on the Egypt partnership, Nidhi Jain said:

“Our proven model in India gives us the strength and confidence to collaborate with Telecom Egypt. With their infrastructure and reach, we can accelerate the rollout of national-scale digital health services across Egypt.”

She added that the platform’s design ensures access for multi-specialty hospitals, standalone clinics, diagnostic labs, pharmacies, and rural health centers, making it inclusive and scalable.

🤖 AI, IoT, and the Future of Healthcare

The platform is AI-ready, and its architecture supports future expansion into predictive diagnostics, IoT-based remote patient monitoring, and telemedicine services. This positions the alliance to lead Egypt’s transition into next-generation healthcare delivery.

In particular, telehealth and virtual consultations, powered by Telecom Egypt’s 5G network, will expand healthcare access to remote and underserved regions—addressing Egypt’s long-standing urban-rural healthcare gap.

📈 A National Model for Digital Transformation

The partnership between KareXpert and Telecom Egypt sets a precedent for how digital health innovation can scale through the synergy of cloud technology, healthcare expertise, and telecom infrastructure.

It aligns closely with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially goals related to healthcare access, digital innovation, and partnerships for development.

With Egypt aiming to digitize all public hospitals by 2030, this platform could play a pivotal role in achieving that ambition, making smart hospitals the norm rather than the exception.
